A few weeks before the tournament the ICCA changed the entry policy and allowed multi-processor computers. Of course, this was not appreciated by those who had prepared software and hardware for a single-processor system. Fortunately a compromise was reached by the introduction of different titles. Each program-entry had to choose their preferred category "single" or "multi". Here are the final results:

World champion "multi-processor micro-computer chess": Deep Junior (Amir Ban, Shay Bushinsky)
World champion "single-processor micro-computer chess": Shredder (Stefan Meyer-Kahlen)
Amateur World champion "micro-computer chess": Gromit Chess (Kai Skibbe)
World champion "micro-computer Blitz-chess":   Goliath (Michael Borgstädt, Erdogan Günes)
